Wunder Workshop is a London based functional food brand making organic and ethically sourced turmeric based products. We focus on Consumption With Purpose®, by harvesting the power of plants for the ultimate wellness rituals. Wunder translates to miracle, and we focus on plants that have a quality that can be classed as such.

Set up by Tom & Zoe in 2014, Wunder Workshop is inspired by Ayurveda - the "Science of Life", whose principles are based upon a preventive and holistic approach to health. We source functional ingredients to create products with integrity and purpose, with the farmers, the environment and our customers in mind at every step of the way.

As conscious citizens ourselves, all the decisions we make at Wunder Workshop are based on a set of ethical and sustainable values to promote a transparent relationship between grower and consumer.

Everything we consume carries a story, from where it was grown, who farmed it and processed it, to how it was packaged. We believe these stories are the most valuable part of the process and connect us to the origin. We believe this should be transparent to all.

We ethically source our organic turmeric and most of our other ingredients directly from small community farms in Sri Lanka that use a sustainable farming technique called Forest Gardening, supporting Sri Lanka's natural biodiversity, soil health, the farmers and the local community. We also source ingredients that are wild-harvested (Fair Wild certified), growing in their natural habitat. We avoid mono-cultural farms wherever possible.

  • To share the highest quality and sustainably sourced herbs, spices, mushrooms and medicinal plants with our global community.

  • To cultivate awareness about where our food comes from and disrupt the outdated spice trading system that ignores the health of the planet and the wellbeing of the farmers.

  • To only use sustainable and ethical farming techniques that are good for the grower, environment and consumer. We therefore work with family owned, single-origin farms and small community farms.

  • To preserve the ancient and traditional wisdom of medicinal plants.

  • To educate people about food as a functional tool to enrich our bodies.

  • To change the attitude from curing disease to preventing disease.

  • To give back to community and the planet. We invest 1% of our yearly revenue into environmental, social and women empowering projects.

We believe in consumption with a purpose, and therefore make sure that our products are tested and approved by a nutritional expert, to provide our customers not only with delicious products but with functional products that are an investment into your long-term health.

Zoë Lind van't Hof / FOUNDER

Zoe learned about health and nutrition from her late mother, who had been in the wellbeing industry for over 40 years. This meant she grew up plant-based, surrounded by botanicals, foraging and growing organic food was the daily norm. This knowledge and motivation has led her to start up her own business. Having travelled with her mother to Sri Lanka to experience and learn more about Ayurveda, Zoe learned about turmeric and its benefits. A couple of years after finishing her Masters degree in International Relations with a thesis on Climate Change, she went back to Sri Lanka to establish a partnership with the suppliers of our most crucial ingredient, Turmeric, and begin her journey to starting WUNDER WORKSHOP.

Tom Smale / CO-FOUNDER

Having studied pharmacology and worked in the medical world for a number of years Tom was convinced that there was more out there than conventional medicine. Having stumbled across the benefits of turmeric in his studies he was keen to follow a more natural path towards disease prevention rather than reacting to illnesses.

We are very grateful to have all our products tested and approved by our Wunder Ambassador Chantal Di Donato who is a plant based lifestyle expert, yoga teacher, author, nutrition and diet advisor. Currently studying mindfulness coaching as well as biomedicine. She previously graduated as a holistic health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC. She is also the author of The Live Lean Health Plan, The Live Lean Detox plan and Innocently Sweet; and inspirational speaker at events and workshops. Find more about her and events on her website:
