We love this beautiful golden porridge recipe by Gypsy Kitchen, combining summery peach with warming oats and turmeric. It's a wonderful fusion of fresh summer ingredients like peach for the cooler mornings.
Ingredients
For the porridge:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 teaspoon Golden Mylk Turmeric Latte blend
- 3/4-1 cup dairy-free milk of your choice, coconut, rice or cashew milk works well (or you can cook the oats with water and pour over the milk to serve)
- A pinch of good quality sea salt
For the sweet tahini drizzle:
- 1 tablespoon of tahini
- 1 teaspoon of Wunder Workshop Golden Turmeric Honey
- A pinch of good quality sea salt
- 1 tablespoon of hot water
For the caramelised peach:
- 1 peach, cut into slices as shown in the photo
- A pinch of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
What to do:
- First, get started with cooking your oats. Add the oats to a pan and cover with either dairy-free milk or water. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and add the Golden Mylk Turmeric Latte blend and the salt
- Cook for another 8-10 minutes, or longer if you have it, stirring occasionally and adding more liquid as needed to reach your favourite porridge consistency. While the porridge is cooking, you can get started on the other components
- Caramelise your peach! Heat the coconut oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add your peach slices, sprinkle over the cinnamon and fry for 5 minutes(ish) on each side, or until the peach flesh begins to caramelise and soften
- For the tahini drizzle - simply combine the ingredients in a small dish
- When the oats are cooked, transfer them to a bowl. Arrange the peach slices on top, pour over the tahini-honey drizzle and add any other toppings of your choice. Coconut yoghurt compliments this porridge beautiful and a sprinkle of nuts and seeds never go amiss either, try black sesame seeds for a gorgeous colour contrast.
