Here, Sira shares her beautiful Blood Orange & Turmeric Honey cake.
1 sliced blood orange
2 tbsp ghee or coconut oil
1/2 cup Golden Turmeric Honey
2 room temp eggs
1/3 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
zest of 1 orange
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup gluten free flour
1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 200C•. Grease a round-springform tin and place the sliced blood oranges on the base and set aside.
Melt the ghee and beat it with the medicinal Golden Turmeric Honey the eggs with an electric whisk on high speed for 2/3 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract, cinnamon, orange juice, and zest and whisk manually for another minute. Add the dry ingredients and mix them manually till combined. Pour mix into the tin and place it in the middle of the oven to bake for 20 minutes, or till a toothpick comes out clean.
Take the cake out, let it cool down & enjoy!
