Angels whisperer to the stars, Lululemon ambassador and meditation guru Kyle Gray shares his most treasured self-care rituals and inspirations.
Hi Kyle- We would love you to tell us little about you and your story.
First of all, thank you for having me – it’s pleasure to be here. It all started when I had a virus when I was 3 and a half years old. It started out as the flu and led to me being paralysed in a wheelchair.
During the same time my Grandmother whom I called ‘Nana’ was also in a wheelchair and we lived in the same house. Although we were already close our bond became inseparable and to make things easier for my mother who was our carer she would often sit me in my Nana’s lap so we could share a wheelchair and go off on adventures. Over the next 8 months or so my body naturally healed itself and my Nana’s health sadly deteriorated.
I remember one night my Nana was moved to hospital and a neighbor was babysitting me while my parents were at the hospital watching over Nana. I remember waking up through the night with Nana sitting at the bottom of my bed – she seemed happy and she turned me over and tickled my back – I fell asleep feeling so loved.
When I asked where Nana was the next morning – my Mum couldn’t answer. She had passed away. This left me wide open with questions and my whole life has been in search of the answers. Why did I see her? How could I see her?
I’ve since went on to study all aspects of metaphysics, spiritual experiences, yoga and meditation. My specialty is in the field of angels and energy – my vision is to help others recognize that they have the capacity to have a personal supportive relationship with the divine no matter what they want to call it.
How do you find your daily source of golden balance?
I like to nourish my body with great nutritious foods, daily yoga and also I’m an avid gym goer. Just knowing I am fueling myself well is a good feeling and I have found incredible mental clarity from practicing yoga and visiting the gym.
I like to nourish my mind and soul with a daily spiritual practice that is simple but yet effective. Daily I thank the Earth, the Heavens and the angels all around me. I take moments to really root down into the Earth in meditation and throughout the day I come back to my practice and reflect with gratitude upon blessings I have received.
I have found just pointing out the good stuff in my life allows me to experience even more blessings ☺
How important is self-care to you, and do you often implement it into your regular rituals?
MEGA.
Often self-care is seen as a body thing – but for me it’s about mental emotional wellbeing too. One huge aspect of self-care for me is being able to say NO. If there’s something I can’t do or know that should I take it on I’ll be left short of energy, time or space I will say NO. I believe often when we say no to others we are saying yes to ourselves.
Share with us a quote that gives you daily inspiration.
“We can never obtain peace in the world if we forget the inner world and don’t make peace with ourselves” – His Holiness The Dalai Lama
We know nourishment from the inside out is fundamental to you. How do you practice this everyday?
Eating plant based as possible and daily green smoothies. I love love love my vitamix it’s the most used thing in my kitchen ☺ My favourite power smoothie is super simple: almond milk, vega protein powder, 100g spinach or kale, 1 banana! YUM
What are some of your favourite ways to wind down?
Every single night I have my pre bedtime shower, cake myself in lavender oil and enjoy a peppermint tea in bed with whatever book I’m reading. Right now it’s Hilary Clinton’s ‘What happened’ which I am thoroughly enjoying.
Ingredients-wise, what are your three non-negotiables in the kitchen?
Right now it’s: Brown rice, Sweet Potatoes and Oats (CARBS ANYONE?)
Now tell us, do you have a guilty pleasure?
If you mean with food: It’s ALWAYS PIZZA. Go hard or go home!
If you mean with alcohol: Pinot Noir or BrewDog’s Punk IPA
If you mean with television: The Kardashians (I love them)
What is your favourite way to use turmeric, be it in your beauty regime or recipes?
I take it as a supplement! My mum is a huge turmeric fan and shared this roasted cauliflower in turmeric and grassfed butter recipe with me (I just change the butter to coconut oil) ☺
Coffee or turmeric latte?
Sorry guys – Coffee wins! Almond milk flat white please ☺

Kyle has also shared with us a daily energy protection ritual from his new book Light Warrior. He suggests implementing it into your morning and evening rituals. This helps prevent others from clinging to your energy and being brought down by the weight of the world.
