Continuing Wunder Workshop's not-for-profit support of biodiverse reforestation projects in Colombia with Jaguar Siembra, we bring you this specialty coffee cultivated by the guardians of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia. The area is known as the Heart of the World, because its complex ecosystems support the balance and maintain the health of the earth.
Rising 5,600 metres above sea level, this majestic snow-capped mountain is the largest coastal mountain in the world. As a World Heritage site and a reserve of the biosphere, this sacred land protects four indigenous communities, who are guardians, responsible for preserving the spiritual balance between nature and humanity.
The Mamos (spiritual leaders) say that coffee acts as a messenger, speaking directly from the hearts of the native people to ours. It is a bridge between worlds and a demonstration of how we can live in harmony with nature and cultivate the land without harming these fragile ecosystems.
The aim of this project is to create regenerative organic cultures and circular economies that support biodiversity in this beautiful part of Colombia.
Not only is the coffee sourced in collaboration with Jaguar Siembra, this specialty coffee is recognised for its superior quality and flavour scoring 87 points, on a 100 point scale by the SCAA (Speciality Coffee Association of America).
Plus, with this coffee 10,000 trees will be planted for biodiverse food forests.
